Vegetation mapping issues at the conference “Russian geobotany: results and prospects” (on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Geobotany Department of Komarov Botanical Institute)

On 26–30 of September 2022, the Komarov Botanical Institute hosted conference “Russian Geobotany: Results and Prospects” (on 100th anniversary Geobotany Department). 123 participants from 25 cities Russia as well colleagues Belarus, Kazakhstan Vietnam attended conference. The work was held in three directions: “Diversity protection vegetation”, “Structure dynamics plant communities”, “Geography cartography vegetation”. 23 presentations were given section Cartography Vegetation”, 10 reports only focused on vegetation mapping. Various methodological aspects related to mapping discussed: practical significance cartographic works, for example, assessment stability forest fires, degree disturbance, conservation value communities habitats, dynamic state communities; application automated methods interpretation space images, use remote sensing techniques mapping, etc. got very good opportunities share their experiences
